TRINITY are Sofie Verbruggen, Fred «Bekky» Beekmans and Bob «Bobott» Baelemans. Fred and Bob had previously worked together with the groups The Fredstones and The Pebbles during the late 60s. Sofie won a prize at the «Ontdek-de-Ster» («Discover-the-star») contest in 1973.
In 1975, Trinity had a Top 30 in Belgium with their first single «Play The Game». But their biggest hit came the following year with «002.345.709 (That’s my number)» - N° 2 in Belgium and N° 8 in The Netherlands.
One year later, they took part in the EUROSONG 77 with «Drop, drop, drop (Let the rain fall down)». Unfortunately, they came second behind Dream Express who were chosen by the TV viewers to represent Belgium in the forthcoming Eurovision Song Contest in London. Despite that second place, the song was well received and Trinity’s popularity became bigger and bigger. They were even popular in Greece and in Majorca.
Trinity was also a stage group. They constantly toured Belgium and The Netherlands with a complete show including songs, choreographies, lights and costume changes.
But by the end of 1978, their contract with Phonogram had expired so they decided to disband after having got two minor hits with «We love the pirate stations» and «Ragtime dance». Sofie went solo, Fred and Bod continued writing and producing songs for other artists.

Trinity est formé de Fred «Bekky» Beekmans, Bob «Bobott» Baelemans et Sofie Verbruggen. Fred et Bob sont les fondateurs du groupe. Ils sont aussi très connus pour avoir fait partie des groupes The Fredstones et, surtout, de The Pebbles dans les années 60. Sofie fut révélée au public en remportant le concours “Ontdek de ster” («Découvrez la Star»).
En 1975, Trinity sort un premier 45 tours «Play The Game» qui se classe dans le Top 30 en Belgique. Le succès vient véritablement l’année suivante avec «002.345.709 (That’s My Number)» qui les propulse en tête des hit-parades de Belgique (n° 2) et des Pays-Bas (n° 8).
En 1977, ils font partie de la sélection EUROSONG 77 avec les groupes Two Man Sound et Dream Express. Même si leur chanson «Drop, Drop, Drop (Let the rain fall down)» n’est pas retenue pour représenter la Belgique au Concours Eurovision de la Chanson, ils remportent un vif succès et leur popularité ne tarde pas à dépasser les frontières du Bénélux, allant jusqu’à Majorque et en Grèce.
Trinity ne se contente pas d’enregistrer des disques, ils tournent beaucoup en Belgique, en Hollande et au Luxembourg. Sur scène, ils présentent un véritable show avec chorégraphies, changements de costumes et beaucoup d’humour.
Le contrat qui lie Trinity à la firme Phonogram arrive à expiration fin 1978. C’est l’heure du bilan. Les deux derniers 45 tours «We love the pirate stations» et «Ragtime dance» ont été de petits succès. Le groupe subit quelques pressions et Sofie veut entamer une carrière solo. D’un commun accord, les trois artistes décident de mettre un point final à la carrière de Trinity.
Samedi 22 septembre 2012 - Fred, Bob et Sofie sont remontés ensemble sur scène pour chanter «OO2.345.709 (That’s my number)» à l’occasion de la soirée disco STUDIO 54 au Sportpaleis d’Anvers.
